What parents are saying about KnowledgePoints

"We've used other tutoring services before, but this year we tried KnowledgePoints.  Never before have we seen these kinds of results.  My 4th grader made high honor roll, and his younger brother won the most improved reader award, 2009.  Thank you"

Writing Programs

Whether you have an aspiring journalist or your child is experiencing difficulty in basic writing skills, KnowledgePoints will help your child develop the skills to prepare them to write their own future. Three writing workshop programs are currently being offered at KnowledgePoints:

3rd – 5th Grades
6th – 8th Grades
9th – 12th Grades (Workshop I and Workshop II)

These programs focus on The Writing Process, Six Writing Traits, Grammar, and the Forms of Writing. The use of Rubrics (commonly used by teachers for evaluating and scoring writing) are also taught so students understand how their work can benefit from self- and peer evaluation. Journal writing is also incorporated into each session to build confidence and effectiveness in everyday writing.

The Workshop II for High School students also involves effectively writing their college entrance essay! KnowledgePoints has designed these writing programs to be delivered in workshop formats, ranging between three and ten students, to meet the immediate needs of the students and the parents.  The skills and experience gained also help prepare students for improvements on the writing component of the SAT/ACT examinations.

Even in today's electronic world, the importance of a person being able to properly express himself or herself in writing is not only paramount for academic success, but for success throughout life as well. Let KnowledgePoints help you help your child.
